I haven’t officially introduced myself to the audience of the website yet. So I thought I would take the time to do that in this post. This is the first post in our From the Director series.
Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Mark Jones and I’m the Lead Writer/Director of Theology Review. I have been writing about my faith now for 13 years. Earlier this year I decided to carry out a rebrand on my faith-based writing to shift the focus of what I wrote away from me. That is why I started Theology Review. The goal was to create a website where the content was the focus.
I’m a committed Christian and have been since the year 2001. In 2003 I made the decision to be baptised, and since then I have steadily grown in my faith. I started to write about my faith in 2004 during my college years and haven’t stopped doing so.
13 years later I find myself in somewhat of an interesting position. I am currently doing training with Spurgeon’s College seeking to earn a degree in theology to propel me into whatever God has in store for me. This year I started preaching, by the end of this weekend I’ll have preached twice, and hopefully, I will have done my third preach by the end of the summer.
I started to serve in the church at the age of 14 (in 2002) and haven’t really stopped since. This has led to me being a Youth Leader (something I did regularly for a decade), being a teacher in Sunday School, and now being a leader of a small group. There are other areas I want to try my hand at. But as is the case with anything, there will be challenges along the way. There will also be blessings on the journey too.
I will be aiming to do some video’s that cover my testimony in greater detail. But for now, I wanted to write a short piece to introduce myself. My goal with Theology Review is to create a website that shares engaging, relevant, theologically accurate content.
